Akçelik Demir Çelik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. was founded by Mr. Salih KILIÇ in Izmir in 1978. Prioritizing customer requests and demands from the first day, Akçelik adopts the principle “define the work correctly, do it right “. Akçelik continued to sell high quality steel based on customer requests and the industrial needs and company goals, and opened its first bright steel factory in Izmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (AOSB) in 1990. Akçelik increased its reach in the industry when it became the dealer for Çemtaş and Asil Çelik and committing to become a global brand, the company decided to move its headquarters to Kocaeli which is considered to be the geographical heart of the Turkish industry. In addition to the production plant built in 2004, with the “Vision of sustainable growth”, the company became a joint stock company in 2005 and the company opened distribution centres in Konya in 2006, in Ankara in 2012, in Kocaeli in 2013 and in Istanbul in 2014. In 2019 Akçelik revamped all its machinery and built integrated production lines with major investments and modernization under the framework of Industry 4.0 and increased its production capacity to a yearly 90,000 tons. Over the years Akçelik has built an extensive supply network from all leading steel manufacturers of the world. With its “Steel Service Centre” Akçelik answers both hot rolled (black) product needs and high quality bright steel demands of its customers. Logistics centres allow customers to have easier access to high quality steel and with Akçelik Online it is possible to buy steel 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Continuing on its journey to become a global brand Akçelik has become one of the leading companies in the industry with 1,300 customers in Turkey and its exports to 60 countries in 4 continents. Akçelik got even stronger when the company acquired BWS Blankstahlwerk Sindorf GmbH factory in Kerpen, Germany in 2020. We offer to our customers a wide variety of length and cuts of forged rolled bars which we supplied from leading global steel manufacturers.
Our grinded bright steel bars are produced in our modern centreless grinding systems which allow high product quality fit to be used in the most sensitive industrial applications. Our grinded bright steel products are produced at the highest quality with precision tolerances according to En 10278 norm and we continuously check our products for any surface defect according to Grade 4, EN 10277 norm.
We produce cold drawn bright steel bars using coil to bar or bar to bar drawing in our combined cold drawing plants to fully meet the needs of our customers. Our modern cold drawing technology improves efficiency in production and maximizes product quality. Our cold drawn bright steel products are produced at the highest quality with precision tolerances according to En 10278 norm and with our inline surface crack/defect detection (NDT) equipment which allow us to detect defects according to Class 4, EN 10277 norm. We produce bright steel in accordance with relevant international standards. We provide a wide range of bright steel products depending on the quality you require and the areas of use.
We have one of the widest peeling size range in Turkey and Europe. Our most modern peeling plants located in Kerpen, DE and Kocaeli, TR process hot rolled steel bars to peeled bright steel bars starting from 16,00 mm up to 200,00 mm with a tolerance up to IT9. We produce our bright peeled steel bars with an extremely high dimensional accuracy according to EN 10278. Our inline equipped non-destructive testing (NDT) instruments at our peeling plants can test for surface defects according to EN 10277, tolerance up to Class 4. Bundling using steel bands with strips of reinforced paper under the bands or other types of seaworthy packing and protection are possible according to our customers requested type of transport from our plants to their locations. We distribute one of the widest ranges of engineering steel grades for different applications according to many international standards.
